Packing List for Treatment
The morning you check in at Skilton Institute, one packed bag is enough. Bring comfortable clothing for a week or so, your ID and insurance cards, and any current prescriptions in their original bottles. Leave alcohol, valuables, and anything sharp at home. Arrival day is simpler than most families expect.
Packing List for Treatment, The Details
Seven days of clothes is enough. Skilton Institute does laundry regularly, so pack comfortable, weather-appropriate outfits you can layer, plus sturdy shoes and something for exercise or downtime. Keep it simple. The goal on arrival day is to walk in with the essentials and nothing extra to sort through.
Bring these with you:
- A photo ID and your insurance card
- Any current prescriptions in their original labeled bottles
- A short list of your doctors, pharmacies, and current medications
- A small amount of cash for incidentals
- Comfortable clothing, pajamas, and a light jacket
Leave these at home:
- Alcohol, unapproved medications, or anything containing them (mouthwash, some cold remedies)
- Valuables and expensive jewelry
- Weapons of any kind
If you are helping a loved one pack and you are unsure about a specific item, call us before the drive over. We would rather answer the question ahead of time than have you turn around. A few labeled bottles and a duffel bag are really all it takes to start.
